Welcome to Dover South School
             
   At South School, we take pride in providing a safe, positive and welcoming environment where all children have the opportunity to succeed.   We have a dedicated staff that puts the needs of students at the forefront of all they do. This year we are focusing on positive behavior and building relationships.  At South School, we will “Be Responsible, Respectful and Safe” as we create a place where children, staff and families want to be.  

       The 2022-2023 school year was a busy one.  Our students did a great job working together and learning.  We also had a lot of fun this year.  Our students and families definitely displayed that “Dover Difference!”  

     South School’s preschool maintained a 5-Star rating which is the highest rating possible through the “Step Up to Quality” rating system.  We are very proud of the preschool program we offer for our students.  It is a high quality preschool setting that gives our youngest students the foundational skills they need to be successful as they transition to kindergarten and beyond.
       
      Our PTG works hard to provide fun and engaging opportunities for our students.  This past school year we hosted family movie nights that were a huge success.  Our volunteers planned class parties, our Ice Cream Social, assemblies and many other fun activities.  The three elementary schools joined together to hold our first “Family Food Truck” event.  It was a fun end of the year celebration.  Through the  fundraising efforts of our PTG,  we were able to raise enough money to add a fenced area for our youngest students.   Everyone is welcome to become part of our PTG.  
       Teaching our students to show kindness and to give back is an important part of what we do at South School.  Our students were able to participate in several community service activities.  We held special dress up days to support the Rainbow Connection and  Share-A-Christmas.
